Our Roundtrip team just returned from the recent ACMA 2023 National Conference in National Harbor, MD, and had a fabulous time meeting with our clients and making new connections with case managers from across the US. This annual event offers valuable insights into the latest best practices for enhancing patient care outcomes, valuable networking opportunities, and industry-leading presentations for attendees to enjoy.
During the course of the conference, we noticed three major themes:
1. Data Matters
Data and analytics stood out as one of the most popular topics across the event. Several speakers highlighted the importance of leveraging data reporting to achieve better patient outcomes, including examples of their own strategies around using analytics to identify areas for improvement and measure success. The theme was further explored in a variety of breakout sessions, with topics ranging from predictive analytics to risk stratification.
2. Budgeting for SDOH Initiatives is a Challenge
Time and time again, we heard conference attendees talking about the vital importance of social determinants of health (SDOH) initiatives at their facilities – and their frustration with budget cuts and limited funding. Echoing the importance of data-driven case management, sessions that shared examples of successful SDOH initiatives emphasized the need for demonstrative return-on-investment and encouraged care managers to take advantage of resources (such as ROI calculators) when making the business case for these efforts.
3. Winning Things is Really, Really Fun
As this was the team’s first ACMA National Conference, we were absolutely electrified by the energy surrounding both our own prize giveaways, and the massive Win the Wheels contest. Our Roundtrip Prize Patrol had a blast roaming the conference and keeping an eye out for attendees with one of our signature Roundtrip pins on their lanyards! Winning attendees got anything from $5 to $50 in gift cards.
The Roundtrip team had an amazing time at the ACMA 2023 National Conference, meeting new people and learning from expert care coordinators. We can’t wait to see everyone in Nashville for 2024!
