December 3, 2018 (Philadelphia, PA)Roundtrip, a software company providing on-demand trip scheduling and monitoring services for healthcare providers, and Aurora Behavioral Health Care (“Aurora”), Arizona’s largest free-standing psychiatric hospital system, released the results of their ongoing pilot: the hospital system nearly doubled usage in the first two months with the platform. Aurora will roll-out Roundtrip’s technology at several new locations in the first quarter of 2019.

The scope of the pilot focused on the implementation of a new transportation program for patients, providing access to ridesharing in Aurora’s Arizona locations. Roundtrip’s voiceless, online ride booking is 90% more efficient than phone-based booking, cutting down ordering time for a single ride from 20 minutes to under 2 minutes. This allows care coordination teams to spend less time book transportation and more time interacting with patients. In the first 60 days of the program, Aurora has scheduled 150% more rides than initially expected. Since launching with Roundtrip, the healthcare provider has seen a steady growth of 19%, month-over-month.

“We’ve paid special attention to this use case and found that traditional health providers struggle to simultaneously communicate with patients and transportation companies,” said Roundtrip CEO Mark Switaj. “Roundtrip is an adhesive technology, promoting better operational efficiencies and giving patients peace of mind. We’re excited to expand this partnership and meet the needs of Aurora’s large population of patients.”

With this early success, the partnership plans to expand into Medicaid transportation in coming weeks and launch in additional states. Aurora has East and West locations in Arizona totaling 238 beds and has locations in California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Texas.

“At Aurora Behavioral Health, we believe in removing barriers to treatment so we can provide lifesaving services to those in need,” said Aurora Behavioral Health Systems CEO Bruce Waldo. Transportation is one barrier we have successfully removed as a result of our partnership with RoundTrip. Together, we are serving more individuals with mental health and addiction needs in our community.  Thank you RoundTrip for helping us save lives.”
